HAZARDVILLE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER RECEIVES $10,000 GIFT FROM USA HAULING AND RECYCLING

ENFIELD (January 17, 2014) – USA Hauling and Recycling is generously donating $10,000 to the Hazardville Family Resource Center. The Hazardville Resource Center is the second Family Resource Center in Enfield to provide education and support to strengthen parents in their role as children’s first and most import teachers.

Investing in early childhood is one of the best, most cost-effective choices communities can make to benefit the economy and develop the workforce. Learning through play groups; support and training for family day-care providers; advocacy and referral services to other community resources; developmental screenings to identify delays and parent education and support groups are among the services provided by the Hazardville Family Resource Center.

USA Hauling and Recycling’s donation will fund the Learning through Play Group for the 2014-2015 school year. The monies received will provide four weekly educational parent and child groups for parents and caregivers. Children learn many school readiness skills including how to interact with peers, play appropriately, and follow routines. Parents are able to connect with other parents and increase their support network.  Amy Morales, Family Resource Center

Additional funds need to be raised, through community support, in order for the Hazardville Family Resource Center to continue the range of services they provide. Sponsorship opportunities are available ranging from $5,000 to $250 to accommodate every business’ community giving plan. In return, based on the level of support, businesses will receive valuable marketing opportunities. The Hazardville Family Resource Center began in the fall of 2012 through the generous support of the LEGO Children’s Fund.
